Chemistry levels

General or Introductory Chemistry

From my very long term teaching of this level, I find that many students fear this subject. In conjunction with any math weakness, this can show itself almost immediately. This type of student will greatly benefit from one on one tutoring and from my experience in tying chemistry concepts to everyday life. This will keep concepts fresh in their mind.

Honors Chemistry

Also for the first year student and includes all the same topics as the Introductory level but with more of an emphasis on mathematics. I can not only help in mastering the qualitative subject matter, but refresh and reteach the mathematics involved. Many of my students finished this class with the same love for the subject as I did, and went on to the AP level with great success.

AP Chemistry

I have taught AP Chemistry from my first year of teaching and In the 45 years of my experience, I truly enjoy teaching this level. I am thrilled to be able to help young people in achieving a direction to their educational goals. So many of my students have gone on to esteemed universities to pursue highly respected careers in the sciences.

College Level

15 years of my experience has come from teaching college and university students as an adjunct professor. Many of these students have already experienced chemistry in high school, but for many older students who are changing careers, it can be a daunting prospect. Some may be going into nursing or other allied health professions or are just fulfilling a requirement. I have had so many students tell me that my methods of teaching have made a fearful and difficult situation one that they ended up really enjoying while learning a subject that can be difficult.
